Mrs. Rebecca Cortes

Hello!
My name is Mrs. Rebecca Cortes and I will be teaching English Language Arts (ELA) and Social Studies for the 4th-8th grade levels.  This is my first year teaching and my first year at The Silver Academy.  After raising my own three babies, I pursued a career in education. I graduated from Shippensburg University in 2017 with a Bachelor of Arts in English.  I then completed my English 7-12 Certification from Wilson College (2020).  As part of my certification, I student-taught 9th grade at Red Land High School, which is part of The West Shore School District. I also have multiple years experience substituting for grades K-12.  I love working with kids and cannot wait to get to know all the wonderful students at The Silver Academy!
