Aviva Woodland
Shalom! My name is Aviva Woodland and my students call me Morah Aviva. This is my fifth year teaching Kitah Alef and Kitah Bet, First and Second Grade Judaics at the Silver Academy. I graduated from Tyler School of Art, Temple University (Philadelphia, PA) with a Bachelor of Fine Arts majoring in painting. Fresh out of art school, I practiced art as a scenic painter, painting stage sets for Theater, Film and Tradeshows. I went on to study Hebrew on an Ulpan at Kibbutz Chatzor and traveled extensively throughout Israel. I combined my interests in Art, Judaics and children by teaching Art at the Jewish Day School in Lancaster, PA. For seven years, I taught a range of Judaic subjects to students from K- 6th grade at Chisuk Emuna Congregation Hebrew School. I am especially excited to teach Kitah Alef and Kitah Bet using the Tal Am Hebrew curriculum, which incorporates research on how children acquire language through visual, social, singing, music, movement, play acting and games to teach Hebrew and establish a lifelong love of Judaism and Israel.
