Rivkah Blutstein
Silver Academy class of '03
I am a proud Silver Academy graduate from the class of 2003. My K-8 education was filled with superb teachers and an unflagging commitment to the Jewish principles of respect for others and the importance of community. The Silver Academy (fondly remembered as The Yeshiva) is the place where I learned to read English, Hebrew, and even Rashi Script. It's the place where my neighbors, Ms. Koplovitz and Mrs. Hartman, encouraged me to read and helped me save my lost baby teeth in tiny treasure chests. I am lucky to have been part of such a strong community while growing up.
Since graduation from The Silver Academy, I have attended Beth Tfiloh Dahan Community High School, Barnard College of Columbia University, and Weill Cornell Medical College. I am currently living in Philadelphia with my husband, Judah, and 2-month-old baby, Ben. I am a resident in Pediatrics at St. Christopher's Hospital for Children, and I look forward to a career in Primary Care or outpatient specialty Pediatrics. Thank you to all my teachers and friends from the Silver Academy for helping me start my educational career on the right foot. And thank you to the current staff and administration for working hard to keep this Institution open and available to the families of Jewish kids of Harrisburg (and York, Lancaster and other Central PA communities) who are looking for quality Jewish education. |
